Protein

Protein with every meal.

On a GLP-1 you eat less, so what you eat matters more. Protein is what keeps muscle while the weight comes off.

      Strength

Lift two or three times a week.

Walking is good. Lifting is what tells your body to keep muscle while the number on the scale goes down.

      Pick your days

Monday and Thursday is an easy start. Tap your days.

Day A and Day B are two short routines. You alternate them, so every muscle gets a turn.

      • 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 12
      • Leave a day between sessions.
      • When 12 reps feel easy, add weight or a set.
      • Eat protein within a couple of hours after.

      Day A

      About 20 minutes

      1. Chair squatSit back toward the chair, stand tall.
      2. Incline push-upHands on a counter, body in one line.
      3. Dumbbell rowOne hand on a chair, pull to your hip.
      4. PlankHold 20 to 40 seconds.

      Day B

      About 20 minutes

      1. Hip hingePush your hips back, flat back, stand up.
      2. Overhead pressLight weights, press straight up.
      3. Step-upOnto a stair, slow on the way down.
      4. Farmer carryHeavy groceries work. Walk tall for a minute.

      Dose pace

Slow dose increases. Milder side effects.

Your provider steps your dose up in stages. Going slower is normal, and often wiser.

      Weeks

      Each step brings a bump.

A step up about every four weeks. Side effects often return for a few days after each one, then settle.

Illustration, not a dosing schedule. Your provider sets your pace.

The week a dose goes up

      • Smaller meals, more often.
      • Eat slowly and stop at satisfied.
      • Skip greasy, fried and very sweet food this week.
      • Sip fluids through the day, not all at once.
      • Ginger or peppermint tea for a queasy stomach.
      • Keep moving gently. A short walk after meals helps.

Tell us before your next step up if nausea lasts more than a few days, you cannot keep fluids down, or you are eating far too little.

      Sleep and stress

Sleep and stress are part of the plan.

Short sleep and high stress push hunger hormones the wrong way. Treatment works better when you rest. Aim for 7 to 9 hours.

      Tonight's plan

Pick up to 3. Fewer, kept, beats more.

If night sweats or hot flashes wake you, say so at your next visit. Golden Leaf treats that too, with the same care team.

      Side effects

      If something feels off.

Pick what you are feeling. Most of these ease with time and a few small changes.

      Nausea

      What helps

      • Smaller meals, and stop at satisfied.
      • Bland, cold or room-temperature food sits easier.
      • Ginger, peppermint, or plain crackers.
      • Stay upright for an hour after eating.

      Text or call us if

You cannot keep fluids down for a day, you are vomiting repeatedly, or you have severe stomach pain.

Chest pain, fainting or trouble breathing: call 911. See When to call.

      Shot day

      Shot day, every week.

Same day each week. A rhythm makes it easy and keeps your levels steady.

A GLPlus Care delivery box opened on a kitchen counter.
      1. Pick your day

Same day each week. Shifting by a day now and then is fine.

No vials yet? Your box usually arrives about 5 business days after approval, and the pharmacy texts you tracking when it ships. Pick your day once it arrives.

      2. Rotate the site

Belly, two inches from the navel. Front of the thigh. Back of the upper arm. A new spot each week.

      3. Clean, dry, inject

Wipe with alcohol and let it dry. Pinch, inject, and hold for a slow count of five.

      4. Sharps in a hard container

A labeled detergent bottle works. Never loose in the trash.

The night before. Vials live in the fridge. Take one out 15 to 30 minutes before the shot, so it is closer to room temperature and stings less.

      Missed a dose?

      5daysor4days

Never take two doses to catch up.

Semaglutide: within 5 days. Tirzepatide: within 4 days. Your vial label says which one you have. After the window, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day.

Compounded products can differ, so when in doubt, call.
